Rosedale Golf Club – Cedar Shingle Roof

The historic Rosedale Golf Club was originally founded in 1893 as Deer Park Golf Club. In 1896, the private course was moved to its current location along the Don River with a brand new name, Rosedale Golf Club.

In 2012, a new clubhouse was designed for this prestigious golf course. This new building was designed to be warm and inviting, and speak to the history of the golf club while offering modern amenities to the members. Heather & Little was pleased to be part of this exciting project, which was finally opened to the public in the spring of 2014.

Cedar Shingles & Lead Coated Copper Roofing Project

The Rosedale Golf Club in Toronto, Ontario, selected Heather & Little to install a completely new roof assembly for their new facility. To preserve a historic feel for the clubhouse and course, designers chose classic cedar roofing to adorn the the new clubhouse, and lead-coated copper dormers and gables to give the clubhouse a classic, residential look. The goal was to create a comfortable and welcoming feel for the facility, unlike many other clubhouses in the area, which have a more commercial appearance.

This project involved the use of cedar roof shingles, cedar shingle wall cladding, lead coated copper dormer roofs as well as lead coated copper flashing. Our team installed a brand new roofing solution, including vapour retarder, insulation, wood strapping and sheathing, a ventilation layer, wood battens, and cedar to create a unique look for the new Rosedale Golf Club clubhouse.
