The historical Victoria Park Armoury in Lindsay, Ontario was built in 1913 with the cornerstone being laid by Sir Sam Hughes resident of Lindsay who went on to become the Minister of Militia in 1911, and stated his firm belief that there should be an emphasis on building armouries for military training and community events in the area. Today, the building is used primarily to host many types of local events, from weddings to charity gatherings and even comic book conventions.
Heather & Little was contracted to replace the existing asphalt shingles on this large armoury building so it could continue to serve as a wonderful historic venue for the community of Lindsay and neighbouring areas.
New Asphalt Shingle Roofing
When Heather & Little undertook this large asphalt roofing replacement, the entire existing roof had to be removed. With a bare roof, our team set to work on repairing the wood deck, installing a waterproof underlayment, and finally installing new asphalt roofing. New asphalt shingles, vents, metal fascia, and a rainwater system was installed. The turret flat roofing was removed and replaced with a new TPO membrane. With a complete asphalt roofing system replacement, the historic armoury will be protected for many years to come.
